‘Things are fun but things don’t keep you happy for long’ This is something I was recently told by a friend.
As I grow older I have realized I become more like my father, very materialistic, and don’t get me wrong. I collect so much stuff and don’t wanna throw away. Well in truth it’s exciting when it’s new but we become disinterested after a while when we replace stuff with new ones; I believe this is what my friend meant.
Currently my room is full of so much junk, my junk which I consider treasure but to another it’s just that, junk. I should open a self museum right? Hahaha!
I love collecting stuff, and traveling around the world has made it addictive. Every piece of my treasured junk is a memory. When I throw away I feel like it’s as good as forgotten.
In truth, I do need more space. I have enough stuff and it’s become cumbersome to move around. That’s the signal that spring cleaning is about to happen this December especially since unboxed gifts on Christmas morning are gonna need some room haha!
Are you a collector, and do you get sentimental with your stuff too? Yes/No… Luckily enough, it’s Christmas season, time to celebrate and share some cheer, another opportunity to donate.
It’s true we want our stuff, but we don’t necessarily need them. I’m planning to give mine away. Please join me in putting a smile on someone’s face. Isn’t that a sentimental memory.
