Tiktok Vs Instagram

Why is Tiktok more dominant than Instagram?

I believe I’ve finally figured this out; my thoughts though.

It’s super easy to get a pass on Instagram while having little or no personality. Majority of instagrammers are caught up trying to look rich, doing everything they can to look more successful than everybody else. So basically, it’s a place for showing off.

However in Tiktok, there is a common level of understanding. It feels like we are all in this life together and it’s easier to connect with everyone and anyone globally. Some users have videos on their life experiences that will shock you, but wake you up and can save you e.g coping with mental illness, loss of family member to Covid-19, losing job due to the pandemic and how they overcame their insecurities.

One time I saw a video of an ex inmate who is now employed in a prominent university. His new found purpose was to bring awareness through teaching and opening up about life behind bars.

Some users share their experiences on motherhood, drug abuse…there is just a lot of content that one can connect with. Tiktok is a platform to be comfortable in our imperfections and be absolutely okay with it. If you don’t pick that out of Tiktok, then you might learn something from others who share free knowledge about their proffesions.

There is just a lot of underrated talented users there who might not be professional artists, singers, musicians… you know, who thorough Tiktok have had the opportunity to showcase their gifts.

And if you’re like me who lip-syncs well, then find your niche and make people laugh and have fun while at it. A couple of countries have shut down Tiktok so before they do shut it down whenever you are ( we know social media platforms are not permanent, they’re a business), pick something out of it, dance, laugh but also learn a thing or two about the real life.

Till next time, cheers 😘🌹
